Cycling, chopping and sawing events were decided, at the Waitara Club s evening sports yesterday. Results are:— Three-quarter,mile cycle: D. Beer (50 yds) 1, Ellis (35yds) 2, R. Yardley (35 yds) 3. Also started: Berryman, Stockman, Tuffery, M. Wiley. Won by two lengths. Time, Im. 46, 2-ss. One mile and a-half cycle: R. Yardley (50yds) 1, D. Beer (90yds) 2, A. Ellis (50yds) 3. Also started: Berryman, Stockman, Tuffery, Plucke, Bellringer. Won by half a wheel. Time, 3m. 39 l-ss. Ten-inch chop: T. Fowler (scr) 1, G. Fowler (25.) 2, A. Lash (65.) 3. The only competitors. Won by four blows. Time, 555.
Boys’ cycle, half-mile: D. Rattenbury I, C. Smart 2. Six started. One mile and a-half “miss and out” cycle scratch race: R. Yardley 1, Bellringer 2, Ellis 3. Also started: Tuffery, Beer, Plucke, Berryman. Time,- 4m. 1 l-ss. Ten-inch saw, three cuts: A. Lash and G. Fowler. 1,.8,i Penman and J. Rattenbury 2. The only competitors. Nine-inch novice chop: B.: Old (scr) 1, G. 'Fowler (25.) 2, H. Lowe (25.) 3. Won by a blow. \
