Mrs. E. J. Reid has returned from Wanganui... Mrs. Clark was a visitor to Stratford for the week-end/ Miss Marion’ Hamertoh arrived from Patea on Monday to spend a few days’ holiday with Miss A. Horner. Mrs. A. E. Symes, Waverley, is visiting New Plymouth at present. Mrs. Grant, who has been the guest of her daughter, Mrs. L; W. Lovell, returned to Wellington on Monday. Mrs. J. C. Nicholson is expected to yetum to-day from Wanganui, where She has been the guest of Mrs. Christie.

Miss Evelyn- Grey arrived from Wellington on Monday night to spend the holidays. with, her mother, Mrs. G. Grey* Miss K. Humphries is to leave to-day for Hastings to spend a holiday there as the guest of Mrs. G. H. Beamish. Miss Ethel Brown, Inglewood, is a visitor here just now and is the guest ©f Miss A, Wilson.: Mrs. M. Lepper, Midhirst, is- visting her mother, Mrs. Tancred, Wallath Road, .Westown. ’ Miss Rae Renaud, who has been on exchange at. the Leys: Institute, Auckland, returned tor New Plymouth during the week-end. Mrs. Sampson and Mrs. Cartwright tnotored ‘through to Wanganui yesterday. Mrs. E. C. R. Andersoh, who has been the guest ot her sister, Mrs. D. Deighton, returned to. Christchurch at the beginning of the week. Miss M. Papps, Nelson, formerly infant mistress of the Central School, New Plymouth, is visiting New Plymouth for a few weeks, Miss Irene Skinner, who for the last year has been travelling through England and the Continent, is returning to New Zealand by the lonic, which is expected to arrive in Wellington to-day. Word ’has been received that Mrs. E. B. Kyngdbn and Miss Godfrey are returning to New Zealand by the lonic and expect to arrive _in Wellington today.

There was -a very happy gathering at the home of Mrs. Lepper, Courtenay Street, on Sunday afternoon, when the ninetieth ; birthday of < hert mother, Mrs, Armstrong, of Waitara, was celebrated. The gathering was quite an informal one, just some of the nearest relatives being present to wish her continued health and happiness.
