VALUABLE DAILY NEWS BOOKLET. PROVINCE’S MANY ATTRACTIONS. The attractions of the province of Taranaki are many and may not always be realised by the visitor or even by those who live in Taranaki. For that reason the Visitors’ Guide to Taranaki tourist resorts, issued by the Daily News, is invaluable both to the visitor and to the Taranakian himself. Published year by year, and increasing annually in size , and popularity, it has just been again completely revised, and is now issued jn the same handy booklet form that can be slipped easily into the pocket. The 64 pages of the guide contain much valuable information about all the towns and townships of the province. Brief pen-pictures of the beauty spots, parks, beaches, walks and other interesting features, together with instructions as to location, will enable the visitor, however limited his knowledge of Taranaki, to map out an itinerary according to his tastes. Information of facilities for sports and pastimes make the sections dealing with the towns complete. Mount Egmont, the province’s‘ best known playground, is fully dealt with, everything that the tourist would desire to know about all of the three mountain resorts being contained in the booklet. The guide is conveniently divided into sections covering North, Central and South Taranaki, so that the tourist who wishes >to operate with any one of the three main towns, New Plymouth, Stratford or Hawera, as his centre, can see at a glance the resorts that are handiest to him. The rural districts of Taranaki have not been neglected, for they contain many beauties and places of historic interest that might be missed by the tor to the towns, were it not for his attention being called to them by the information and descriptions contained in the guide. . The guide is illustrated with views of New Plymouth, Mount Egmont and the Mokau. The latest statistical information has also been compiled in tables at the end of the book. As well as the letterpress, a number of advertisements will assist the traveller in selecting accommodation and garages,' and in filling his holiday needs.
