FRANKLEY ROAD NEWS
(From Our Own Correspondent.) At a euchre party held at Frankleigh Park 5J tables were occupied. The prize-winners were Miss Una Bendall 1, Mrs., Jones 2; Mr. Harrison 1, Mr, Williams 2. ' A circular was sent to the residents of Frankley. Road by the superintendent of the Frankley Road Sunday School. It stated that Mr. Okey, who has lent him his garage for the Sunday School lessons, now required the shed for hay. The superintendent, Mr. Smith, thought it best that they build on the section that had been given them. This would save further shifting about. He had had an offer of the timber for £5O and he asked suggestions for building and voluntary labour. The annual picnic and prize-giving will be held at Mr. Goodacre’s farm on December 17. Eleven of the New Plymouth Salvation Army Band visited the Frankley Road district on Saturday afternoon, playing Christmas carols. Bandmaster Skelton conducted. Mrs. Baker entertained the party at afternoon tea. After church on Sunday evening at Hurworth a meeting was held and it was decided that the' Sunday school picnic would be held on Boxing Day. It is now to be called the. church picnic.
