NORTH TARANAKI PLAY ..GALA DAY AT WEST END CLUB.;. RESULTS OF CLUB COMPETITIONS. (By “Hoop.”) - I . With no important dub matches this : week, the members of the different croquet dubs in New Plymouth have been engaged getting through their own competitions. West End Gala Day. ’ . A croquet gala day was held by th* West End Club yesterday in ideal weather, the dub members being clad in their attractive new-blue blazers. Members from all the other dubs were present and an enjoyable day was spent. , All present joined in golf croquet, which was won by Mrs. Codd (Inglewood), and other interesting and novel competitions were successfully conducted. Results, are: Round the mulberry bush, Mrs. E. Jury; ring the bell, Mr. Tingey with a possible of 40; the trail, Mrs. Leslie Brown; the. road to Mandalay, Mrs. Ward; the roqd to the moon, Mr.' Tingey. A beautiful oak card table made and donated by Captain Hartnell was won by Mrs. Jull, and a Christmas cake, made by ‘ Mrs. Morey and decorated as a croquet grefen by Mrs. Tingey, was won by little Mis* ’ E.
