NGAMOTU SEASIDE MATTERS

PROVISION OF FACILITIES. J CONTROLLING BODIES MEET. The annual meetings of the. ;Ngamotu Seaside Resort Co., Ltd. and the Ngamotu Resort Committee were held last night at New Plyniouth, Mr. W. F. Short presiding over an attendance of five until the arrival of Mr. R. J. Deare. The balance-sheet of the Seaside Committee showed receipts totalling £203 9b< including rents £5l 4s, sale of cottage* £l5O and re-funds £1 Is. The payments included lighting £l3 fc, ground rents £6, repairs £2 19s Bd, water and sanitation £34 14s, and loan to -the Resort Company £146 9s 4d, the payments; thus equalling the income. Liabilities were : nil and assets were one cottage £lOO and the Resort ’ Company £3882 19s lid/, a total of £3982 19s lid. ■ ■ The balance-sheet of the Resort Company showed liabilities of. £4415 12s lid : (fully paid capital £473 ss; Seaside Company £3882 19s lid and sanitary and water reserves £59 8s), and on the assets : were buildings £2644 3s sd, furnishings £232 16s 2d, plantation £132 Is lid, supdry debtors £145 7s, deposits £3OO, banked «' £lB3 12s 3d, profit and loss account £743 ; 3s Bd. :'/■ ' ; ■ The profit and loss account included on the debit side wages £125, repair* £5l, lighting £42 and general expense* £52, expenditure totalling £332. Rents and bathing £328 and interest 14s 2d an amount for the profit and loss appro-: priation account of £3 4s 2d. : Thepropriation account showed balance; in October, 1931, £739 19s 6d, and profit and loss a year later £3 4s •2d,. leavings a; ; balance brought down of £743 3s Bd, t ;. The balance-sheets were carried and regarded as satisfactory. Mr. C. B. Web-/ - ster was re-appointed auditor. The :company was anxious to wind Up the society, said Mr. Deare. In 1914'when the scheme had been begun the idea was/ ; to boost New Plymouth, and the result / had been excellent. The move had the means of bringing many country people to the beach, and the buildfogs had been a decided acquisition. Th* < time had arrived when it . was possible to hand the assets to the borough coifoi / cil, and he was hoping the move would * be made with the concern free bf debt, ; It was reported that the in connection with the reserve between the borough council and harbour; board ■; ■were under way, and there would prob- . ably be satisfactory developments in th* < near future. •' The re-lease of the palladium to Mr. and Mrs. Gyles will be recommended to the council by the company, it was j decided. The cottages had all been let from.! the middle of December to late in February, the secretary reported.
