POLITICAL TRUCE SOUGHT
NEGOTIATIONS IN GERMANY
PRESIDIAL CABINET PLAN
“A SOCIAL CONCENTRATION”
DICTATORSHIP ALTERNATIVE
By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright. Rec. 7.40 p.m. London, Nov. 29. General Schleicher is continuing consultations aiming at a truce enabling the Reichstag to carry the country over a dangerous winter, paying special attention to professional, economic and social interests, says the Berlin correspondent of the Times. Trade union circles have also conferred with employers’ associations.
It is believed that if General Schleicher forms a presiditl Government it will not include party politicians but representatives of employers and trade unions. Although the so-called free unions are connected with the Socialists, it is unlikely that they will be associated with a ■ “social concentration” cabinet, the success of which is at present doubted. If this fails it is understood the only alternative will be the re-appointment of Hen* von Papen and a slightly reconstructed “fighting cabinet” with farreaching dictatorial powers. Herr von Papen is conducting separate negotiations in this connection.
