Wellington, Last Night.
Representatives of the employers and workers in the freezing works dispute held a private meeting at Wellington today. No statement was available at the conclusion of the meeting.
TAIROA HELD UP AT GISBORNE.
UNIONISTS DESERT ONE HOLD.
Gisborne, Last Night.
A watersiders’ dispute in connection with the loading of the Tairoa for Auckland has resulted in a deadlock and the vessel is held up here. • The men agreed to work the smaller hold but demanded ‘extra men for the larger hold as well as on the wharf. The company agreed to place extra men in the hold but refused the request for more on the wharf. The union thereupon withdrew all men engaged in the larger hold.
