RAHOTU GENERAL NEWS

SUNDAY SCHOOL ANNIVERSARY. The Sunday school anniversary services were not so well attended as in former yeais, although there were a good crowd of children. The girl guilds from Opunake were present. The afternoon service was conducted by the Rev. E. S. Emmitt, Hawera. The children’s hymns were accompanied by Miss Andrews (piano) and Messrs. Pentelow and Sorenson (violins). The music was much appreciated. The Misses P. and J. Murray and Master G. Murray sang solos. A portion of the Psalms was recited by little Miss Lily Nielsen and Master Rex Barr. Master J. Sharpe read the lesson. At the evening service Master Walter Hamil and Master Ron Dawson recited Psalms. Mrs. T. Willcox has her son and his wife from Australia staying with her. Mr. and Mrs. Small are soon to leave the district

Mr. Tyrrell senr., who came to Rahotu over 47 years ago, is visiting the district again. Of the many who were in the district then only three remain—Mrs. Robert Morgan, Messrs. W. R. Wright and James Corrie.

. Mr. H. Pennington, Kahui Road, is shearing; other farmers have finished, hoping to catch the early sales.. Several Rahotu farmers offered to help load at Moturoa had they been needed on Monday.
