HOME AND SCHOOL FUNCTION. The committee of the Central Home and School Association, New Plymouth, has -worked keenly for its social functions, and this year its efforts have been crowned with success. The excellent attendance at the final social of the season last night was a fitting climax. The large hall was packed to its utmost capacity and all present thoroughly enjoyed themselves. During the evening the Mayor, Mr. H. V. S. Griffiths, speaking on behalf of the committee, thanked all who had so loyally supported the association during the year and made the weekly Saturday night functions so enjoyable. He congratulated the committee upon the excellent manner in which the socials had been conducted and expressed the conviction that they would be even more successful next season. He concluded by making an appeal for the support of all present for a dance in aid of the fund to enable Miss Mary Crawshaw to further her studies in London. An excellent supper was served. Mr. J. Turner paid a special tribute to the splendid work of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Huggett and Miss Clark, who had done much for the socials. Splendid music was provided by the Troubadours. Mr. J. Turner was master of ceremonies. Special musical items were given by Miss N. Athey, Miss E. Crawshaw, Mr. Murray and the Messrs Gadd. . Miss E. Crawshaw played the accompaniments.
