OLD BOYS—-KAPONGA DRAW RAIN PREVENTS CONCLUSION. H. BARKER IN BEST OF FORM. A draw was. an unsatisfactory conclusion to the match between Old Boys and Kaponga. Old Boys made 179 and declared with six wickets down, Kaponga making 12 without loss before time was called. Four runs came off S. Betts’ first four balls, and then Thrush and. Moloney went in rapid succession. This brought the Barker brothers together and another bright partnership was recorded. H. Barker has seldom played a better innings, for with the position rather I gloomy he played his natural game, scoring all round the wicket. By the time W. Barker was dismissed the score was only two short of 100. Rain w;’S falling and a brief adjournment had to' be made. Old Boys continued till 5.30 before declaring.
