NEW PLYMOUTH RIFLE CLUB
SERVICE SHOOTING 'PRACTICES. ■Shooting under service conditions was held by the New 'Plymouth Defence Rifle Club at the Rewa Rewa range on Saturday. Conditions were good but there was only a small attendance. Three practices were held, application, rapid and snap shooting, the possible being 95. The best scores were:- —
MINIATURE RIFLE MATCH HELD. A triangular miniature rifle match between the men’s and ladies’ ‘branches of the New Plymouth Rifle Club and the Waitara Miniature Rifle Club was won by the New Plymouth men’s (branch by the narrow margin of one point from the ladies’ branch. The team from the Waitara Club, which has 'been in existence only a short time, was 66 points behind third. Details are:— New Plymouth men: W. Short 66, S. G. Higgs 65, J. G. Turnbull 65, R. Willis 64, R. Reichenbach 62, W. Walsh 61, G .E. Putt 60, S. Pruden 59. Total 501. New Plymouth ladies: Miss Reeve 66, Miss J. Papps 65, Miss A. Bell 64, Miss G. Griffith 64, Miss M. 'Death 61, Miss C. Kretschmar 61, Miss S. Papps 61, Miss P. Death 59. Total 500.
Waitara: E. George 63 , H. fioffe 62, W. Madkay 60, G. O. Smith 60, R. Marshall 56, G. Chapman 49, W. Crowe 44, iS. Lucas 46. Total 434.
