By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Rec. 5.5 _p.m. London, Aug. 9. Mr. Adam Blood, speaking at the Great Southern Railways annual meeting, ascribed the crisis in the Free State railways to the tax on the coal which alone suited the engines. The Government should relieve the situation.
Sir Walter Nugent, presiding, said that unless the other adverse conditions were removed the railways must ba closed or nationalised. Nationalisation would be disastrous to > everybody.
