The New Zealand hockey team returned to Sydney to-day from its country tour aud attended a civic reception to the visiting hockey teams participating in the in-ter-State hockey carnival. The Lord Mayor of Sydney cordially welcomed the players. (Mr. S. Holland, replying for the New Zealanders, said his men were having a most enjoyable, if strenuous time. At the carnival to-day Victoria defeated South Australia five to iril, West Australia and Queensland drew 4-all.
