HAWERA ITEMS
Mrs. W. J. Bright, who has been spending some time at Masterton, returns home this week-end. Miss Alison Kemp, who has been under an operation at a private hospital, returns to her home during the weekend. Mrs. W. G. Walkley returned from the Wairarapa on Thursday. Miss Janet Prosser, Masterton,. has been spending the past week visiting her brother, and will return home on Monday. . ' Miss Mary Powdrell, Wairoa, Hawke’s Bay, is Mrs. Powdrell’s guest at Princes Street extension. Mrs. W. Gourley, Auckland, who has been visiting her daughter, Mrs. A. F. Stead, returned home yesterday. The debutantes at the Hawera electrical industries ball were: Miss Tui Muir, who wore pale salnlon French net, braided in satin ribbon, with 'black chiffon velvet coatee and poscy of pale rose and cream flowers; and Miss Phyllis Sanson, who wore saxe blue satin, with black velvet coatee fur-trimmed in 'White.
