MANAIA WOMEN’S DIVISION.
The Manaia branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union held its monthly gathering this week, Nurse Merrie 1 being the hostess. Mesdames Sutherland, Duncan, Mitchell, Bloor, Wells (2), Reardon (2), Young, Clague, Baker, Crompton and Walters, and Misses L. Scott and Paterson attended. Two new members were enrolled. Mrs. Duncan won the cooking competition for scones and Mrs. Baker that for pastry, Mesdames k ßloor and Walters donating the prizes. ' An invitation to attend the Qtakeho birthday party was received. Mrs. Sutherland (president) reported on the New Zealand conference.
