CHEESE ADVANCES SLIGHTLY
NO CHANGE IN BUTTER MARKETS. Cheese quotations: Yesterday: White, 57s to 58s; coloured, 565; steady. Last week: White, 56s to 575; coloured, 54s to 565; steady. Last year: White, 60s to 61s; coloured, 62s to 655; steady. Butter quotations: Yesterday: Finest, 105 s to 106 s; quiet. Last week: Finest, 105 s to 106 s; quiet. Last year: Finest, 110 s to Ills; steady. The price of white cheese has advanced about one shilling since last week, according to cable advices received from London yesterday. The top price fjr coloured remains the same as-a week ago and butter prices also remain unchanged. Both markets arc fairly quiet but steady. The following advices have been received: H. M. Thomson (Anglo Continental Produce Co. Ltd.): Butter is steady at 105 s to 106 s. Cheese: coloured, 565; white, 57s to 58s. E. Griffiths (A. J. Mills and .Company) : .The butter market is steady. New Zealand finest, 106 s (105 s to 100 s last week); New Zealand firsts, 105 s (104 s to 105 s); New Zealand unsaltei, 106 s to 108 s (108 s to UOs); Danish, 110 s to 112 s (118 s to 120 s); Australian, 101 s to 102 s (102 s to 103 s). The cheese market is steady. New Zealand white, 57s to 58s (56s to 575); New Zealand coloured, 55s to 56s (55s to 565); Canadian c.i.f., 56s 6d' (565). Newton King Ltd. (R. and W. Davidson Ltd.): The butter market is quietly steady at a. slight reduction on last week’s levels. Salted, 104 s to 106 s (105 s to 106 s last week); unsalted, 104 s to 108 s (106 s to 108 s).
