NORMANBY SOCIAL EVENTS.
Mr. and Mrs. Cleaver returned ou Thursday from a visit to Nc(v Plymouth. On Monday evening a pleasant time was spent when a number of their young friends “surprised” the Misses Thelma and Mavis Gibson at their home, Mountain Road. The euchre party held on Friday in the town hall again proved very successful. The ladies’ prize was won by Mrs. E. J. Linn with sixteen games, Mrs. M. Hockley was second with thirteen games and the consolation prize went to Mrs. B. Grantham. The men’s first prize went to Mr. E. J. Linn, while Mr. F. W. Phillips was second and Mr. Ron. Thrush won the consolation. The hidden numbers went to Mrs. Allan and Mr. Startup.
