MEN’S HOCKEY FINAL

THURSDAY NOT FAVOURED. meeting of hawera club. Discussion to the effect that a Thursday would be unsuitable for the final between Oriental and the winner of the Kaponga v. Inglewood game took place at a general meeting of the Hawera Men’s Hockey Club last night. Mr. A.' Jackson presided over an attendance exceeding twenty. The association is to be advised that the Hawera team will travel to any northern ground if the match be played on a Wednesday. The Bennett and Sutton' seven-a-side tournament is to be held on August 10 unless the provincial final should be on that day, in which event the tournament will be on August 17.

Arrangements in connection with the annual game between Hawera and the Wanganui Old Boys’ Hockey Club for the Hawanga shield are to be proceeded with immediately.
