TRAINER’S CLAIM FAILS
COUNTER-CLAIM SUCCEEDS. CASE IN WELLINGTON COURT. By Telecraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. When the case in which Francis Gray, horse trainer of Trentham, claimed £3 10s from Sir Kenneth Douglas, Wellington, for breaking in two horses was called in the Magistrate’s Court to-day there was no appearance of Gray and the proceedings were struck out. Accordingly the counter-claim, in which Sir Kenneth sued Gray for £lO Ils 6d, representing the value of a horse which, had died while being broken in, was successful, Mr. T. B. McNeil, S.M., giving judgment for the full amount with costs. It was alleged that Gray negligently and unskilfully handled and managed the hofse, with the result that it was strangled.
