CLEANING UP OR CLOSING
SOLUTION OF DANCING PROBLEM.
VIEW OF PROMINENT ENTHUSIAST
“I would clean the dance halls up or close them up,” said Mr. 0. Crawford at Mokoia on Wednesday night. Mr. Crawford, who is a well-known M.C. at dances in South Taranaki, was referring to the question of liquor at dances. Mr. Crawford said he was fond of dancing and he was sorry to see the good name of dancing people dragged in the mud. Dancers, their parents and committees should put their shoulders to the wheel, He advised settlers to support committees instead of leaving it to the “young fry.” Rules and regulations should be drawn up at the halls. “If I had my way,” said Mr. Crawford, “if a young couple, or an old one for that matter, left the hall, I would say: ‘lf you go out, stay out.’ I would clean the dance halls up or close them up.”
