Black Pearls.
Mis Joan Pearson, whose engagement to Mr. Antony Acton was recently announced at Home, has no superstitions about pearls (states an English writer). She chose for her engagement ring a beautiful solitaire black pearl set with baguette diamonds. A necklace of black pearls was the only thing that was not stolen from her in a burglary that took place at her grandmgther’s, Annie Lady Cowdray’s, house in Carlton House terrace, last year, hence th© choice of a black pearl ring.
