Rec. 7.15 p.m. Sydney, April 25. Victor Claude Saywell, the wellknown city solicitor and sportsman, died at midnight on Saturday. His wife is still unconscious and there is little hope for her recovery. The police are guarding the residence. , Saywell and his wife were found m bed on Friday with their heads horribly battered. Apparently they were attacked with a hammer while asleep. No reason for the murderous attack has yet been ascertained. A bloodstained hammer was discovered in an adjoining paddock.
