Rec. §.50 p.m. Ottawa, April 20, Preliminary work i°i‘ the Impeiial economic conference at Ottawa is beino- pushed forward. Committees, subcommittees and inter-departmental organisations of the Government are hard at work gathering essential information. Parliament will probably hear a discussion on the conference soon when a vote of £50,000 to defray the expenses ■of the Empire gathering comes before the House of Commons. The Prime Minister (Mr. R. B. Bennett) is prepared to sot aside a day for members to give their views.
