OFFICERS ELECTED FOR YEAR.
NURSE'S WORK’SHOWS INCREASE.
The annual meeting of the Eltham Plunket Society was held on Wednesday, Mrs. H. G. Carman presiding. The report stated that the nurse had had a very strenuous year, the work having increased on the previous year. Mothers had spoken in high terms of the useful service rendered by Nurse Paynter. The work in comparison With the previous year’was: Visits to rooms, adults 1462 (12'81), babies 1403 (1190), visitors 280 (269), children over two years 466 (470), new babies 68 (69), visits to homes 575 (469).
The membership is still 153, eleven new members taking the place of eleven who had resigned. The interest on the carnival fund amounted to £29 16s lid, this being added to the building fund, which now totals £539 l : 8s 7d.
Officers elected were: Patron, Lady Carncross; president, Mrs. H. G. Carman; vice-presidents, Mesdames T. B. Crump, Best, D. H. Saunders, D. May; secretary, Mrs. C. Cooper; committee, Mesdames Clements, Jones, Brown, C. A. Belcher, S. Carson, A. Ware, John Campbell, R. H. Gover, R. Lee, Percy, Bridger, Crawford, Goldsmith, Weir sen.. Lee, Newlands, Mann, Blackman, Picard, H. Belcher, Linnell, J. L. Weir, Rankin, and Lady, Carncross.
