NEGOTIATIONS FOR USE IN RELIEF.

Wellington, Last Night. , In view of the fact that the fruit crop this year was greater than the market requirements, Mr. G. C. C. Black (Independent, Motueka) asked in the House of Representatives to-day if the Government would arrange to take over the surplus fruit for the benefit of the unemployed. The Minister in charge of unemployment (the RL Hon. J. G. Coates) said the Unemployment Board was already, in touch with the Fruit Board with a view to making such arrangements.
