POLICE FORCE PROMOTIONS
THREE TRANSFERS ANNOUNCED.

Wellington, Last Night.
Police Commissioner Wohlmann announces that to fill the vacancy at Christchurch caused by the retirement of Superintendent Eales, Inspector D. Cumming (Napier) has been promoted to the rank of superintendent and will take charge of the Christchurch district. He will be replaced at Napier by Inspector Fitzpatrick (Greymouth). The Greymouth position will be filled by Sub-Inspector Lopdell (Wellington), who has been promoted to the rank of inspector.
