PERSONAL AND GENERAL.
The funeral of Mr., R. J. Frewin on ? Tuesday -was very largely attended. As a mark of respect the business premises closed for an hour. Mr. Frewin was accorded military honours, a firing party of the Inglewood Volunteers under Lieutenant Gilliver being in attendance. The Masonic fraternity was represented from many parts of Taranaki. The Rev. S. W. Golding conducted both the Anglican and Masonic burial services. An im- /i mpressive last tribute was the sounding of I: the “Last Post” by Bugler S. Lovell. The Moa Dairy Company on Wednesday paid at the rate of 9Jd per lb on 246,6031 b of butter-fat, making a total payment of £9760 14s Bd. The Inglewood Chamber of Commerce met on Tuesday evening, when Mr. W. J. Smith presided over Messrs. E. Braybrooke, G. C. Tait, W. T. Somerton, F. J Spurdie, E. Crossman and E. Mae trig .??<■ (secretary). It was decided to send a letter of sympathy to Mrs. Frewin and family, and the chamber stood in silence for a minute as a mark of respect to the late Mr. R. J. Frewin, who had twice filled the office of president and been a member for a number of years. .
