STATEMENT CONTRADICTED

BOARDS AND EXCHANGE POOL. NO DAIRY BOARD RESOLUTION. The statement, conveyed yesterday in a Press Association telegram from Wellington that the Meat, Dairy and Fruit Export Boards had met on Thursday to consider the position in connection with the exchange pool, ie denied by Mr. James Hine, a member of the "Dairy Board. Mr. Hine states that he attended a meeting of the Dairy Board this week and left Wellington on Wednesday night, when the southern members' also left by the ferry steamer, and: two northern members, Messrs. Grounds and Luke, travelled with Mr. Hine. It was therefore impossible for the Dairy Board to have taken part in a meeting on Thursday.

So far as the 'exchange question is concerned, the chairman (Mr. W. A. lor ns) reported on Wednesday to the Dairy Board what had been done by the farmers’ exchange committee. The report evoked a little discussion, but the board passed no resolution in connection with it, Mr. Hine stating that as it was realised that the Government had referred the whole matter to the committee of economists the board took no further action.
