MISHAP TO WESTMORELAND

EN ROUTE TO NEW PLYMOUTH. FEW DAYS’ DELAY EXPECTED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Shortly after the Federal liner Westmoreland cleared the heads for New Plymouth at four o’clock this afternoon trouble was experienced in the starboard turbines. The Union Company’s tug Terawhiti proceeded to the heads and accompanied the Westmoreland back to the wharf, which was reached at 7 p.m. It is thought the turbine is stripped. Repairs will be effected here and it is hoped they will be completed by Monday.
