OCEAN CONTEST

GRAIN SAILING SHIPS. CHALLENGE IN PROSPECT. London, Nov. 29. A challenge race, for big grain ships from Australia to London, between German, Finnish, Swedish and United States sailers, is in prospect. Mr. A. J. Villiers, an Australian journalist and shipowner, has issued a challenge to the United State, which is, it is stated, likely to be taken up, and the Tusitala, the only full-rigged ship on the American registry, is mentioned as the one that may carry the Stars and Stripes. Ships of' the other nations are already in the grain-carrying trade, including the four-masted German barque Parma, which Mr. Villiers and Captain Reuben de Cloux recently bought.
