Heavy rain during th® early morning made the wicket unfit for play before lunch in the match between New South Wales and South Africa. An inspection was to have been made at 2.15, but further showers prevented the players taking the field and the match ended in a draw. ' New South Wales in The first inningri had made 500, and when stump* were drawn last evening South Africa had reached’ 185 for the loss of one wicket. The New South Wales bowling averages are: Theak took one wicket for 54 runs; McCabe, none for 27; Amos, none for 31; Hunt, none for 29; Hird, none for’ 30; Bradman, none for 7.
