QUESTION OF GENERAL AUDIT. .FURTHER REMAND GRANTED. In view of the fact that the question of a general audit was being-considered by the head of the Police Department, a further remand for a week was granted at New Plymouth yesterday on the charge against George Grey, formerly a solicitor, of stealing £BOO, which it is alleged he received from Otto H. Knofflock on terms directing him to apply it to a specific purpose, a condition that had not been fulfilled. In asking for the remand. Detective Meiklejohn said it might not be possible to proceed with the case in a week, in which event the matter would have to stand over until early in the new year. (Bail was renewed on the previous terms.
