The Unemployment Board has set aside £ls,ooo'as a special grant for Christmas relief for unemployed, according to a state* ment made to-night by the Minister in charge of Unemployment, the Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates. In addition it has been do cided to distribute supplies of meat at present held by the Government to families who require food. An urgent appeal has been made by Mr. Coates to private persons throughout the country to give at least one day’s work to those seeking it.
