NEW PLYMOUTH HARRIERS
RUN FROM SHOWGROUNDS. There was a small attendance of New Plymouth harriers on Saturday, due no doubt to the strong counter-attraetion of the football at Pukekura Park. Shortly after 2 o’clock the pack set out under the control of H. Brown. Leaving the showgrounds the course taken was half way up the Mangaone Hill and then across country till the railway line was reached. This was followed as far as a point about half a mile, past the Corbett Road station, where the pack turned off towards the aerodrome, which was reached after a good run. There. a short •spell was enjoyed as the running had been rather strenuous on account of the gradual rise of the country and the fact that the sun was shining brightly all the while. Leaving the aerodrome the course taken was straight down the road and the order was “go as you please.” All the runners soon settled down to a good steady pace to suit themselves and were soon back home after a good training run of about 7J miles. Next week the harriers are to go to Mount Egmont and will be advised of particulars later in the week.
