With the hospital, picture theatre and dwellings in Wentworth, at the junction of the Darling and Murray Rivers, protected by embankments holding back several feet of water the town resembles a series of islands in a vast expanse of flood water?. ~ The hospital is in great danger, it has been decided to abandon it aim to remove the patients to Mildura. Residents worked continuously for five days and nights building levees to keep the rivers back. Many families are shelterin" in the gaol. The waters are still rising.
