A world's cricket record is claimed by Ca.pt. G. W. Hodgimson, the Master of the Mendip and owner of the famous Caves of Wookey Hole, Somerset. He has had a copy printed of the score sheet of a match played in 1911. in which the late Sammy Woods and -J. C. White, of Somerset, took part. Capt. Hodgkinson carried his bat for 229 runs and, despite a. declaration by their opponents, his side scored 458 runs for one wicket to win the match. Altogether 911 runs were scored in six hours.
