QUALIFICATIONS FOR TESTS

CRICKETERS’ STATUS DEFINED.

By T«l«rraph—Press Assn.—Copyright.Roc. 9 p.m. London, July 30. The Imperial cricket conference has settled the question of a cricketer’s qualification to play in tests. It has been decided that unless the conference debars them players are always eligible to play for the country of their birth. Similarly they are always enititled to play for any country in which they have resided for the four immediatelypreceding years, provided they have not played for the country of their birth in that period. They are not permitted without the consent of the board of control to play for any country if they have once played against that country.
