SALARY REDUCTION BILL
SECOND READING PASSED.
MR. LANG’S SCHEME CRITICISED.
By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright. Rec. 7 p.m. Sydney, July 31. The Salaries Reductions Bill passed the second reading in the Assembly. The Opposition indulged in trenchant criticism. A united protest was received from the Judges and Mr. Flynn, secretary of the Public Service Association, commented that the Bill would sound the deathknell of Labour for a generation. , The Bill is now before the Legislative Council, where leading counsel have addressed members on behalf of the Crown Employees’ Defence Association, expressing uncompromising hostility to the measure.
