WAVERLEY RACING CLUB. ANNUAL MEETING OF MEMBERS. The annual meeting of the Waverley Racing Club on Thursday was not largely attended. Mr. J. E. Palmer presided. The ,committee reported a loss ot £386 'for' the year, arid, ’ though the. club’s financial position was very solid, a few • more' yea I*6 such as thut. would spell serious difficulties. The stakes amounted to.' £l2BO and the taxation payable to the Government was £lllB. The racing public could not be expected to pay at that rate. The appointments of the club wpre. in a very satisfactory condition. Special. thanks were accorded Mr. H. Coyle',, handicapper, for his donation of his Ices.- _ The committee .-had. been offered tne loan of. a vacant permit for'l93l. As it was not a permanent, permit the committee had-thought best not to accept on account of the'-.eeonomic conditions. There were over , 100 members. - The farming operations had again shown aloss. ... The officers -and stewards were reelected. Consideration of the stakes :was left-to the .committee. Mr. J. E,TBaliner was re-elected ichairmaii of caniinittees. Thanks were accorded: Messrs... Bremer Bros., Mr. W. R. Hunt and Mr. G.‘ Spratt for their assistance to-the club.
