STRUTHERS—PEKROTT.

The ’Whitely Memorial Methodist Church was the scene of a pretty weddin< r in the early evening of Wednesday, July 22, when Emily May, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Perrott, I'itzroy, was married to William Strut jeis, youngest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Struthers, of Dumfresshire, Scot*land. . The church was decorated by friends of the bride, and the ceremony was performed by the Rev. Clarence Eaton, with Mr. G. White at the organ. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore an ankle length lace and georgette frock, and she carried a sheath of lilies and maidenhair fern. The ivory veil was gracefully held in place by clusters of orange blossom, and fell in a long train held daintily in place 'by little Lila Penwarden, who wore an early Victorian frock of Duchess blue crepe-de-chine. Her head band was of tinsel and rose-buds, and she carried a posy. The bridesmaid (Miss Ercna Holden, friend of the bride) was attractively attired in a pink floral corded silk frock, pink satin shoes, and pink felt, hat, relieved with blue, and she carried a bouquet to tone. The bridegroom was ably supported by Mr. Percy Short, of Tc Mawhai, Te Awamutu. Messrs. Les Slyfield and Hector Holden acted as ushers to the guests. Following the ceremony a reception was held at the “Mon Desir” tea rooms, where the guests were received by Mrs. Perrott, who wore a frock of 'black ring velvet and smart black hat. She carried a posy of daphne and heath. Mr. and Mrs. Struthers later left by car for the north, the bride tiavelling in a dress of fawn silk velour, with coat and hat to. match. ’ CLARKE—PORTER. A very pretty wedding was celebrated at St. Paul’s Methodist Church, Hamilton, in the evening of Wednesday, June 17, when Edna May, elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. .J. W. Porter, of Hamilton, was married to William Harold Clarke, only son of Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Clarke, Avenue Road, New Plymouth. Rev. W. H. Hocking officiated and Mr. W. Webster was at the organ. The bride, who entered the church 011 the arm of her father, wore a beautiful frock of heavy ivory chantilly lace, fashioned in long slender lines and falling in graceful uneven flares to the ankles, the back and side flares forming a train. Short flares also adorned the low hip-line. . She wore a tightfitting lace cap, and silk veil, and carried a sheath of lilies. In attendance as bridesmaids were Miss Valerie Porter, sister of the bride, and Miss Eileen Clarke, sister of the bridegroom. Miss Porter wore a frock of pastel pink, and Miss Clarke a frock of pastel blue georgette. Both frocks were fashioned alike, having heavy flared ankle-length skirts with deep necklines embroidered in silver. The hiplines were finished with a flouncing of tinv pink and silver frills, finished with pretty trails of silver tissue hand-made flowers. They wore felt picture hats to tone with their frocks, and carried, bouquets of begonias, irises, and maidenhair fern.

Mr. Hugh Lam'bie (Eltham) attended as best man, and Mr. Albert Porter as groomsman. After the ceremony, a reception was •held at the “Revellers’” cabaret. The bride’s mother received her guests in a frock of navy crepe madaline, softened with, rose georgette, embroidered in navy and hat to tone. She carried a bouquet of brown marigolds, begonias and maidenhaii - fern.

The bridegroom’s mother wore a frock of black georgette relieved with white and hat to tone, She carried a bouquet of violets, irises and maidenhair fern. Mr. and Mrs. Clarke left on their honeymoon by car, the bride travelling in a tailored frock of tweed and brown leather coat, with tangerine and brown hat to match.
