TARATA WOMEN’S INSTITUTE

SPARE VEGETABLES POOLED. Miss Wicksteed presided over a wellattended meeting of the Tarata Women’s Institute on Tuesday afternoon. Business was followed by a demonstration in smocking by Mesdames Press and Hockley and Miss Waite (members of the institute). A game which had been arranged by Mrs. Bishell eaused much amusement.

Members of the institute decided to “pool” their spare vegetables and send them to the Red Cross depot at New Plymouth for distribution.

The hostesses for the afternoon were Mesdames J. Paterson and Soffe, Misses Wickstecd and Waite.
