The Dorade, a Bermuda-rigged yawl, 52ft overall, lias arrived at Plymouthv winning the trans-Atlantic race from Newport, Rhode Island, from nine competitors which left on July 4.
KIORE DISTRICT NEWS. A euchre and dance party was held in the Kiore school on Tuesday night, when ■ a large crowd attended. The prizes were won by Mrs. E. Florence and Mr Schriber. The consolation prizes went to Mrs. F. Stockley and Mr, Leo For man. The music for the dance was played by Miss E. ’ Forman, Mr. Stockley and Mr, Mosen, extras being played by Misses Eileen and Glance Hasler, I Forman, F. Knox and Mr. Hickson. Mrs. Schriber is spending a holiday at Purangi. Mr. and Mrs. I’attinson and family are visiting relatives in the South Island. I Mr. Leslie Wood is visiting the Auck land district. Mr. Jim Vereoe has returned aftei - spending a holiday at Auckland. Miss E. Forman is staying with her sister. ■ Mrs. M. Knox lias returned after spending a week’s holiday with Mr. an'> , Mrs. Kemp. , . Mr. Oscar Lofroth spent the wcek-eno with Mr. and Mrs. Kemp. ; Mrs. R. Kemp is spending a few day* at Stratford with her parents, Mr. an Mrs. Knox.
