Mi-. C. E. Wells was yesterday reelected chairman of the Warea Dairy Company, a position he has held since the company was formed nine years ago.
Sister Spcusley, who has been in charge of the Opunake cottage hospital, was on Tuesday appointed by the Palmerston North Hospital Board as Palmerston North district nurse in place of Sister Farmar, who recently resigned. Mr. Tan Henare, Reform member of Parliament for the Northern Maori electorate, was granted four days leave of absence by the House of Representatives yesterday on account of a ereavement in his family.
Mr. T. R. Kerr, a member of the Dannevirke Post Office exchange staff, has left for Hawera on transfer. Prior to liifl departure he xuet by tuo staff and presented by the postmaster (Mr. J. 'S. Connell), on their behalf, with a memento.
The King has approved of the extension of the term of office of Sir William Charles Fleming Robertson as Governor and Commaiidei-in-Chief of Barbadoes for one year from December 30, states a British Official Wireless message.
