Officials of the Waterside Workers’ Union deny any responsibility for the men’s action. The Waipiata, which was loading, and the Waiotapu, discharging, were to have continued work during the afternooou, but owing to the men’s refusal to resume after the lunch hour the Waipiata was dispatched at 2 o’clock for southern ports, leaving over 600 tons of general cargo behiild.
