MIND TO STEAL CHANGED
UNUSUAL STORY TOLD IN COURT. BARMAN TO BE SENTENCED. By Telegraph.—Pfes» Awoflatipn. Auckland, June 15. An unusual story of a man who planned to eteal money but changed his mind when he got his hands on it was told in the Police Court when Robert Davidson, aged 29, barman, pleaded guilty to unlawfully entering the Waverley Hotel'' with intent to commit a crime. Accused, who was formerly employed in the hotel, knew where the takings were kept and, after hiding in the lounge, got into the bar earty on Sunday morning. According to l:is statement to the police, he then readied that it would be theft and that suspicion would fall on the night porter, also that he (accused) would only spend the money on. drink. On leaving he was forced to take a pair of shoes belonging to a guest. These he returned later. He was committed for sentence.
