A PUKEARUHE INCIDENT.

A peculiar accident befel Miss Hazel Wells, daughter of Mr. Herbert Wells, at Pitkearuhe on Sunday last. Slip was putting on the bridle of her horse when it bit her top lip and attempted to grasp her throat. Fortunately for her, she fell when the savage animal made the first attack, and she was in this' precarious position when her cries attracted another member of the houseliold, who drove off the ill-natured brute. Later Miss Wells was taken to Waitara, where her injuries received medical attention. The horse, a high-spirited one, had not had much work for some time previous!y-
