ARBITRATION COURT RATES. REDUCTION' OF TEN PER CENT. In accordance with a similar decision regarding salaries not governed .by Arbitration Court awards, a resolution reducing all the award rates of pay of men employed by the New Plymouth Borough Council was passed by the council last night in the following terms: “In accordance with the general order issued by the Arbitration Court th? New Plymouth borough council hereby, in respect of all its employees whose wages are governed by industrial awards or industrial agreements, resolves that from and including June S, and subject to the exemptions provided by the said general order, all rates of remuneration now paid by the council in accordance with such awards or agreements including time and piece wages and overtime and other special payments provided for in the industrial awards, industrial agreements and apprenticeship orders now in force shall be reduced by an amount equal to ten per cent, thereof.”
