COURSING AT WAITARA
MOCKETT CUP STAKE OPENED.
FINALS TO BE DECIDED TO-DAY.
Unfavourable weather was experienced yesterday when the Waitara Coursing Club staged the early rounds of the Mockett Cup and Open Stake en the Brixton plumpton. Nevertheless several extremely good courses were seen, and the final rounds of both stakes appear to be very open. , The meeting was to have been opened on Wednesday, but wet weather necessitated a postponement. . , Mr. J. Feaver was honorary judge, and other officials at the meeting were Messrs. Don. Telfar (slipper), W. Soffe (hare slipper), P. Ward (slip steward) and L. A. Jury (secretary).
