CHANGE'S IN STAFF ANNOUNCED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Replying to the Hon. G. M. Thomson ,in the Legislative Council to-day Sir Thomas Sfdey said that, owing to technical difficulties, it was not considered practicable to give effect to the proposal to establish a censorship of ♦‘talkies” for the purpose of preserving tho purity of the English spoken language. The remedy seemed to be more British films and, judging by his experiences in England, tlup was likely to be brought about in the near future. Tho Hawke’s Bay Earthquake Bill was received from the House of. Representative? and put through all stages without discussion and passed.
Sir Thos. Sidey announced the resignation of Mr. Basil Seymour Stocker from the position of clerk-assistant and the appointment of Mr. C. M. Bo'thamley to fill the vacancy. After tho usual valedictory references had been made the Council rose and the session ended ait 3.20 p.m. with the singing of the National Anthem.
